About Us

About VBEAK

The Values Based Education Association of Kenya (VBEAK) was established to guide schools, teachers, parents, and individuals through a structured and well-designed educational process aligned with Kenya's education sector guidelines.

We work closely with the Ministry of Education, conduct seminars for teachers and religious leaders, and collaborate with organizations that share similar values and goals. Our mission is to transform education by integrating ethical and biblical values into learning.

VBEAK believes that true success in education comes from producing well-rounded individuals who are prepared to serve society responsibly. Academic excellence alone is not enough - children need strong values, emotional resilience, and social skills to navigate an increasingly complex world.

Our History

What We Believe

Value-Based Education

Value-based education is an approach to learning that equips society with a strong moral and ethical foundation alongside academic and career development. According to VBEAK, a school or home can only be considered truly successful when it produces well-rounded individuals who are prepared to serve society responsibly.

Values as Guiding Principles

Values are seen as guiding principles that shape behavior and character. VBEAK advocates for an education system that integrates ethical and biblical values into learning.

Holistic Development

The association seeks to equip teachers, parents, and communities with approaches that nurture children holistically, enabling them to become responsible and productive members of society.

The Role of Schools

VBEAK believes schools play a critical role in shaping children because students spend most of their formative years within learning environments. These environments influence attitudes, behavior, identity, and overall approaches to life.

Beyond Academic Excellence

While significant investment has been made in improving curriculum-based education, VBEAK emphasizes that academic excellence alone is not enough. Modern society is increasingly complex, rapidly changing, and filled with social challenges. Children also need strong values, emotional resilience, identity, and social skills to successfully navigate the future.

Why Value-Based Education Matters

VBEAK recognizes several major challenges affecting school-going children today, including lack of identity, poor mental well-being, and exposure to drugs and alcohol abuse. The organization believes education must go beyond academic achievement to include the development of strong character, healthy relationships, and positive social behavior.

The association advocates for environments at school and at home that help shape children into stable, confident, and morally grounded individuals. VBEAK views children as the future generation that must be equipped and empowered to positively impact society. Their mission is inspired by the idea of preparing and strengthening young people to overcome challenges, influence society positively, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Both formal and informal education systems are important tools for nurturing cognitive abilities, talents, and social skills. VBEAK promotes value-based education programs that help children build strong identities, maintain mental well-being, and develop practical social skills needed for life.
